EXPRESS YOURSELF BOSTON

Express Yourself Inc. (Boston) was founded by Paula Conrad (Co-executive director) and joined by Stan Strickland (Co-Executive Director) in 1989. Express Yourself celebrates cultural diversity and collaboration with isolated youth from 17 residential and inpatient mental health facilities who form their own large community. Since 1989, over 1400 youth in newly created communities have worked collaboratively with Blue Man Group, STOMP, Keith Lockhart, conductor of the Boston Pops and Broadway dancers in a culminating performance at the Shubert Theater in Boston.

In 2003 Express Yourself Inc. expanded their mission by incorporating their first affiliate Chapter; Express Yourself Milwaukee, Inc... Since then, the replication of the successful model of artist expression and collaboration has been translated to work with inner city at-risk youth in the Milwaukee area. Ongoing artistic, administrative and programmatic collaboration have expanded the influence of the program to the lives of over 700 youth and artists and the community at large.
